CTC 7v7 all-stars dominate Section V
CTC players enjoyed a great 2014 season.
Todd Larocca has led the Bishop Kearney Kings to a 7-2 record before falling to Red Jacket in the title game. Larocca threw for 1,935 yards on the season with 24 touchdwons. The junior currently holds one offer from St. Francis University, a Division 1 school in Pennsylvania.
Jay'von Hampton was the clear front-runner for All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year before being upset by Irondequoit in the class AA semi-final playoff game. Hampton threw for 1,341 passing yards and rushed for 1,072 yards with a combined 33 touchdowns. He led the two-time class A champion Eastridge Lancers to an undefeated regular season record and one game shy of a third straight sectional title.
After missing the first two games of the season due to a practice injury, Brandon Mynter led his to team Avon Central to a 6-1 record after his return, culminating in last night's 46-0 victory in the Class DD sectional championship game. Mynter has ran for 728 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging over 7.o yards per carry. He also has an 89 yard kickoff return for a touchdown and four interceptions, including a 41 yard pick six yesterday evening that helped earn him the Defensive Player of the Game award.
